Thinking about the day when my foot hit the ground, when I walked away with nothing in my hands. Then I came across a new place, when I stepped into your town, when my will to love was hanging by a strand. I’ve got to see your face, that’s why I’m standing out here at your door. And I know that it’s late, but I can’t wait to see you anymore. And then I see you coming around looking for a fight. I know you’re sick of me, but that don’t make it right. I’m looking for a way to figure all of this out, but it might not be the right thing for sure. I’ll look at you at night, from a different point of view, until your eyes can’t show me any more. Trouble’s never far away, and it crept in-between us once again. And just as soon as we’re falling back in love, it seeps through even though we’re on the mend. And now I see that the life that I want has only been the one from my memory. And how could I be sure that by now, after all this time, it’d be the one for me?
